Knowladge
Lignite - also called black lignite-, generally is considered to be a brown coal. Brown coal contains 42 to 52 percent carbon ( on a dry, ash-free basis ) and has calorific values ranging from about 19 to 26 megajoules per kilogram.
Thermal Power Plant
LOMGroup started its engagement to generate electric energy by using the lignite coal in 2000s which is also generated by itself in the mining site within the boundaries of Manisa region. Obtaining a license for exploitation, the power plant of 510 MW which is also established by LOMGroup itself. The Thermal Power Plant Project is an important project for increasing the rate of the provision of energy demand in Turkey from the local resources. All of the main equipment to be used in the power plant are selected among the Western origin equipment. The highest achievable value of efficiency will be obtained in the power plant to be established by using the state-of-art technology. A system for desulphurization unit with three-phase circulating fluidized bed is selected for the first time in our country. With this system, the applicable norms of Europe and also the emission norms likely to be reduced by 2020 by European Union will be ensured. Since the signature date of the royalty contract, the construction works have been started by obtaining all required permissions. In parallel with the due date of the power plant construction, the mining activities have been started, and the works as preliminary to the preparation of the pit have been going on. The production capacity is over 260 billion kWh electric energy per year. See our Lignite Open Pit quarry in work below.
